My Special Gift

My truest friends have seen my personality as is and I have let them see my soul.

I wish I had the opportunity for others to experience this part of me but it is one I cherish  and don’t want others to take advantage of.

You say for me to open up but if I were to do that, there would be parts of me that I’ll be giving to you.

It’s sacred and special. Not something that is given easy but rewarded instead.

If I’m being honest with you most people don’t deserve to see that side of me because it’s raw, real, and honest.

To have that type of trust from me to you is an honor, but the reality is most people wouldn’t see it that way.

And that’s the biggest difference.

I find people who see it as exactly what is it, a gift of myself.
